norad santa tracker 2009

BREAKING NEWS - LATEST UPDATE -

Santa Claus has left mainland China after visiting the Great Wall shortly before sunrise in Los Angeles today. Santa is now moving into the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Norad reports Santa is on time, on path, and getting U.S. Norad-approved jets to help him make the path. Somali pirates are no match!

Santa will be entering Eastern Europe roughly noon EST.

How many people does it take to track Santa with Norad?

“One Department of Defense (DOD) Civilian from the NORAD Public Affairs staff is assigned to manage the program. In addition, almost 1,250 Canadian and American uniformed personnel – Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines, as well as DOD civilian and their families and friends – volunteer their time on Christmas Eve to answer the thousands of phone calls and emails that flood in from around the world.”
